You are what you eat.

Then I would be a  lamb?

Just back from a wedding. There goes one of my new year resolution: TO EAT HEALTHY.

Over the 3-day weekend, I managed to eat healthy. I cooked healthy stuffs with plenty of salad to go with each dish. I also managed to eat frequent small portion of meal through out the day to keep my metabolisme going.

But todays wedding ruined them all, damn you Syed's Mutton Beriyani !!!

RM200

I paid that much basically for nothing today, all because of "Ayam Golek" in Bazaar Ramadhan.

I have been longing for Ayam Golek since the beginning of Ramdhan. So 2 weeks back, I decided to sink my teeth into one no matter what. Headed straight to Kelana Jaya Baazar after work. As usual no parking. Despite H1N1, crowd was crazy. I found a narrow parking between a car and a tree. So sure that I can squeeze my car in between, I slide in the gap confidently. Screeetcchhhh....... my heart stop few beats, and I felt that as though some one torn my balls with a razor! Ouchhhh!
Reversed my car and checked, there was a big tree bark on the passenger seat side. It left a decedent dent and scratch under the passenger door.

THIS AYAM GOLEK BETTER BE WORTH IT!!!!

Can things go anymore wrong? Yeap it can! There were no Ayam Golek stall.

I bought my next favorite thing, nasi kerabu, thank God, it was heavenly!

Today I managed to send the car for dent job, it cost me RM200.

Roasted Chicken

This is how my famous (allegedly) roasted chickenlooks like. I made this for buka puasa for relatives other day.  I have made this couple of time and it lood different every time. There is no recipe for this, I just stuff what ever available in the fridge in the chicken and throw it into oven for 1.5 hours ( followed Jamie Oliver's method as a baseline la). Kids love it!

Updates.....

1. Test drove the new Persona, very nice. The boot is enormous! The handling is good, very quite inside, no vibration. The design is cool. Good car.

2. Sent my wedding watch for repair. it has been broken for a long time, the crown is missing, and no battery. Since it is Swiss watch, only the specialist shop could repair it, i have asked so many shop, none could repair. After 3 days, the shop called me, the repair cost will be RM380!!! He said, if this watch has sentimental value, it worth repairing or else buy a new one. Hmmm of course it is sentimental, it is the freaking wedding watch. But I asked not to proceeded, Maybe one day, when I am filthy rich, I will repair it.

3. Power outage in Wisma Consplant, so all home Fitness First members we upgraded to Passport (meaning we can go to any FF for that day). Went to FF Summit. it was huge! really nice, the free wight area was so big. Love it. Hmm should I change the membership to this branch? Had a great workout, and after that we and wife went shopping in S. Parade and I ate 1/2 chicken Nandos with rice. If I worked out like crazy, my appetite will be very 'healthy'

4. Fasted yesterday, and went for buka puasa at Big Plate. I oreder mixed grill and wife ordered just soup. And both of us couldn't finish the meal. it was a BIG plate indeed.

5. How can they end the season 3 of LOST like that? Frustrating isn't it. This is why I hate watching these series, they don't seems to end! (but I watch it nevertheless)

Why?

Sometimes I wonder why am I torturing myself like this.

Waking up early in the morning, even when I had the luxury to sleep late since I only start work at 10.
I don't know what driving me, but I am up early morning and by 0800 or 0815 I will be in the gym, on treadmill. Why?

There has been some good progress made past few weeks, that is keeping me motivated. I have been taking my body fat percentage weekly now, and it is reducing ( but my weight is increasing! Cool, meaning that my muscle mass is increasing)

I have a goal to achieve before the arrival of the baby, I want to be macho and cool dad! haha, actually, since soooo many people been scaring me that I can kiss my gym time good bye once the baby comes, I am making most of it with the time have now.

A house becomes a home when ...

Last night wife made pizza for dinner, nothing fancy, bought a ready-made crust, topped it up chicken, sausage, capsicum, onion, cheese and mushroom., shove it into oven, and voilĂ , it is pizza.
We were just doing the Official Opening of the new oven we bought, or else my sis will laser again saying that "jangan-jangan dating raya tahun depan, oven masih wrapped with plastic dengan manual dalam oven".

Wife have been extra rajin , especially in cooking department after we moved in to the new house. She cooked almost every night, after work, even she is very tired, and she wake up early and prepare breakfast for me and her to bring to work, she drops me off at the Komuter and off to her office ................ hmmm so hard working!

We have been busy in weekends, cleaning up the house, since that’s the only time we have to dust and laundry.

But I don't want to be a "cleanliness Freak", whereby the house look too clean that it become unfortable to love in!

My friend Vaasugi forwarded me the poem, which I think is VERY TRUE!!!!

A house becomes a home when ...
"I love you" on the furniture."
I can't tell you how many countless hours
that I have spent CLEANING!

I used to spend at least 8 hours every weekend
making sure things were just perfect --
"in case someone came over."
Then I realized one day that no-one came over;
they were all out living life and having fun!

Now, when people visit, I find no need to
explain the "condition" of my home.
They are more interested in hearing about
the things I've been doing while I was
away living life and having fun.
If you haven't figured this out yet,
please heed this advice.

Life is short. Enjoy it!
Dust if you must,
but wouldn't it be better to
paint a picture or write a letter,
bake a cake or
plant a seed,
ponder the difference between want and need?

Dust if you must, but there's not much time,
with rivers to swim and mountains to climb,
music to hear and books to read,
friends to cherish and life to lead.

Dust if you must, but the world's out
there with the sun in your eyes,
the wind in your hair, a flutter of snow,
a shower of rain.
This day will not come around again.

Dust if you must, but bear in mind,
old age will come and it's not kind.
And when you go -- and go you must --
you, yourself will make more dust!

REMEMBER...
It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

This picture i took in Sephia mode (brownish black and white) Look kinda classic this way....

Desperate Househusband

I am so bored and I got nothing to do. Thats what happened if you have too much of free time at hand. Since I am working shift, I have 3-4 off days per week. I used to do gardening on my free time, but seriously, how much gardening you can actually do? and some more the new maid is taking care of the garden better than I did, so basically now I am jobless at home.

Well, when you are bored, and at edge of loosing your sanity, it is good to do something nice and different. So I took up cooking. Since I started shift work, I have improved my culinary skill.

Jamie Oliver...my hero....hahahahh

These are few of my my specialties,
Baked potato with cream source
Grilled chicken with orangy creamy sourcy thingy or whatever you feel like naming it.
Fettuchini/spaghetti with garlic source
macaroni and Cheese.

Local dishes,
Mee goreng
Ayam Masak Kicap
Khailan/Sawi/any veggie ikan masin
Nasi goreng

(ignore the spelling mistake, I have no idea how to spell the food name correctly)

But I prefer the western dishes, it is easier to cook, less preparation needed and uses the least amount of kitchen utensils (is it?)

And ever since I joined the Gym , I have learned to cook healthy as well. I use least amount of oil, and I only use olive oil, since it is healthier. I Don't fry anything any more, it is all grilled (without oil).

At the moment, my favorite is Tuna sandwich. It is healthy, has right amount of carb and protein needed by body, and oh man, it is easy to make or what?!!!!!

Other than that, I also sometimes (very rarely though) clean the bedroom and redo the furniture, just to surprise my wife, most of the time she will be pleased with the result.

Hmm, can't wait to move in to the new house, there will be a lot of activity for me to do then on my off days.
I am definitely a DIY guy. I love crafts, carpentering, plumbing , hanging wallpaper, gardening, fixing mosquito net around windows, anything that needed to be done aroud the house.
My major client right now is my mother in law, my parents and my sisters.
My sisters will wait till go back on weekend to fix things up in their house. I am doing charity only now, no charges....so far. I have invested a lot in tools also. It is a good investment though, rather than paying handy man for their lousy job.

P/S: Desparate Hosewives is really a good show, and my wife became an instance fan, maybe she felt related to the characters? I don't know.

Ladies, want to know which house wife you are? Well take this quiz to find out !

Shopping and Free Food !!!

Today has been a slow day at first.... woke up at almost 12 noon. Then had lunch and watched TV while my wife was cleaning up the house...what kinda husband am I? Anyway she was complaining that she needed some exercise...so I figured why I am the one to spoiled her fun? :)

Later me and my wife went to the Curve..for the first time! Nothing much there, most probably because it is still new and most of the shops were not yet operational. But the Xmas decoration there was just awesome!!! We regretted no to bring any camera to snap few shots!!! Then we walked to Ikano to buy printer to my father in law. Bought Epson CX1500 for RM328, it comes with scanner and I think it worth it (and I got cool Incredible Organizer with it...who can resist that kinda offer?!!! heheh)! We also bought cordless phone and i bought a pendrive for myself, 256 MB for RM128..... and we were given 2 walls ice cream (green tea flavor) because we spend more than RM100...nice......

Restoran Ayam nur opened a new branch in Subang Jaya, so they are throwing free food for the customers, me and my wife went and had our share, the food was so so only, the chicken was big..anyway it was free and i am not complaining much.. but I dont think I will go there and eat there again....
i am sleepy

HI: Free food, shopping, freegifts....spend quality time with wife...
Lo: With all those Green Tea Ice Cream and Oily chicken I have been eating, I wonder where is my diet plan heading?
