Frelling Cool Show!

This is what I am up to every night. I am a fan, but missed it when they showed it on Hallmark long time back (2002?).
Anyway, finally, I managed to download the entire season and also the final TV movie. It is a shame they discontinued the show. This is greatest Sci-Fi on tv where originality is concern.
Now that I am watching it I am afraid the day I reach the end of the series will arrive and  I will wanting more!

Some Fitness Tips.

Here some good tips I found lying around in the internet, So I am sharing it. I like the last point the best, it's very true!

Most ppl make losing weight much harder than it has to be.  Here are the basics:

1) In place of 3 larger meals, eat 5-6 smaller meals (this keeps your metabolism steady)

2) If you wait until you're hungry before you eat something, then you've waited too long.  That's like waiting until your car runs out of gas before you fill up the tank.

3) Eat the majority of your carbs in the first half of the day and the majority of your protein in the latter half.

4) Good carbs: veggies (greener = better), fresh fruit, whole grains, brown rice.

5) Bad carbs: sugars, white bread, white rice, corn (these spike your blood sugar, which fucks with your metabolism; remember, if diabetics can't eat it, you should avoid it, too).  This includes fruit juices!

6) Good sources of protein include: primarily poultry and fish.  Limit red meat, although buffalo meat is naturally leaner and higher in protein then even chicken.  Nuts, natural peanut butter, etc. are also good, but eat them sparingly as they are very high in calories.  Protein powders are good for a post-workout "meal," but don't over-do it.  One scoop in a cup of milk should suffice.

7) Think "high-fiber" and "low-fat" (particularly saturated and trans fats).  Not all fats are bad!  Learn which foods have the "good" kind of fats.

8) DRINK WATER!!!  Work up to the point where you're drinking about a gallon each day.  Avoid soft drinks like the plague, and limit alcohol and caffeine consumption as they dehydrate your body.

9) Weight loss occurs when you burn more calories in a day than what you consume.  Counting calories is a pain in the ass, but it works, and eventually you get used to it and will know about how much you can eat without over-doing it.

10) Weight training builds muscle.  The more muscle you have, the more calories your body burns, even while your sleeping.  Light weight and high reps does NOT effectively build muscle.  Heavy weight and low reps is the way to go!  Shoot for 8-12 reps per set.

11) Muscle weighs MORE than bodyfat, so if you're pumping iron on a regular basis, but your bathroom scale doesn't seem to be showing a decrease in weight, don't let it get you down.  Instead of relying on your scale, focus on how you look and how your clothes fit.  That will be the best indicator.

12) Cardio is NOT as effective as weight training.  Yes, cardio burns calories, but unfortunately during cardio your body gets about as much energy from breaking down your muscle tissue as it does from your stored bodyfat.  That's why avid runners and bikers are generally so damn skinny.  Breaking down muscle tissue for energy = less muscle = more EXERCISE TIME needed to burn the same number of calories.  The idea here is to burn more calories IN LESS TIME.  However, if you enjoy running or biking for hours on end, then by all means, knock yourself out.

13) VERY FEW ppl suffer from excessive weight as a result of a medical condition.  An over-whelming majority of overweight ppl are overweight b/c they just can't resist eating fried foods (as opposed to grilled), fat-laden treats, and sugary snacks, sodas, and fruit juices.

14) Don't think of exercise as a chore to be endured.  And don't keep doing the same things day-in and day-out.  You'll only get bored.  Instead, make exercise fun.  It should be something you enjoy doing, not something you dread.  If you prefer running to lifting weights, then RUN.  Just be aware that you're more likely to end up looking like Lance Armstrong than Ahh-nold.

15) For most ppl, if you don't have the body you want, then you simply don't want it badly enough!!!  It's that simple.

Greatest Sci-Fi of ALL TIME!

It seldom you find what you looking for, especially when you are entering used goods store.

There is this one second hand shop in Bangi, which sells almost anything. I entered the store with ONE thing in mind, and was immediately headed to the second hand books section. There were hundreds of books, arranged in shelf, randomly. If you have anything in your mind and looking for a particular book, finding that book would need divine intervention.

So as I was picking up each book on the shelf, there is was staring right into my face. It was not even arranged with other books, it was as though someone has taken it out from the arrangement and placed it right before my eyes!
THE GREAT DUNE TRILOGY by FRANK HERBERT

The actual price was RM80++  which displayed at the back. The book looked brand new, like never been read before, and the cherry on top was, the price, it was RM18! a miracle indeed!

I am a very slow reader, the last book I read was Lord of the Ring, which I manage to finish before they showed The Return of the King in cinema. It took me months! I can't remember any other significant book I read since.

I am so thrilled about this. I have watched the movie and the mini series. This trilogy is  about 1000 pages, I am reading it very slowly now, I will review it perhaps a year from now. :)

Selamat Hari Raya

Sekarang ni Raya announcement kat tv takder thrill macam dulu dah. Dulu masa kecik-kecik berdebar-debar tunggu pengumuman depan TV. Banyak kali jugak ada raya yang suprise yang membuatkan mak aku panik dan tension sebab nak prepare untuk raya yang jatuh hari esoknya cara mengejut gara-gara anak bulan lahir tak cukup bulan.

Sekarang ni aku tengok, orang buat dunno jer pada announcement raya kat tv, semua dah predicted, budak-budak kecik pun buat tak tau jer, memang dah hilang thrill, sedih aku.

Tapi takper la, nak buat apa kan, Aku nak ucapkan Selamat Hari Raya and Maaf Zahir Batin pada semua.

I am not gonna write much, here what happening after Raya:

  • I am gonna workout everyday! with wife in her mum house during confinement, I can hit gym every day after work and Sat and Sun too!
  • I am gonna loose at least 5kg.
  • And wanna bring my fat percentage to 20!

RM200

I paid that much basically for nothing today, all because of "Ayam Golek" in Bazaar Ramadhan.

I have been longing for Ayam Golek since the beginning of Ramdhan. So 2 weeks back, I decided to sink my teeth into one no matter what. Headed straight to Kelana Jaya Baazar after work. As usual no parking. Despite H1N1, crowd was crazy. I found a narrow parking between a car and a tree. So sure that I can squeeze my car in between, I slide in the gap confidently. Screeetcchhhh....... my heart stop few beats, and I felt that as though some one torn my balls with a razor! Ouchhhh!
Reversed my car and checked, there was a big tree bark on the passenger seat side. It left a decedent dent and scratch under the passenger door.

THIS AYAM GOLEK BETTER BE WORTH IT!!!!

Can things go anymore wrong? Yeap it can! There were no Ayam Golek stall.

I bought my next favorite thing, nasi kerabu, thank God, it was heavenly!

Today I managed to send the car for dent job, it cost me RM200.

Imaad Luqman

Assalamualikum WBT. Nama saya Muhammad Imaad Luqman. Memang panjang nama tu, susah jugak masuk sekolah nanti kene tulis nama panjang-panjang ni, tapi takper la, mak bapak bagi nama ni, saya terima jer, lagipun saya suka nama ni. Panggil saya Imaad cukup la, simple.

Saya lahir kat Kelana Jaya Medical Center pada 3 September 2009, pukul 2:28 PM (penting ke time saya lahir ni?), proses kelahiran saya, sama jugak macam kakak saya Daaniya. Jadi tak payah la saya ulang balik kat sini.

Orang cakap muka saya pun lebih kurang akak saya, cuma saya ni slim skit, dan rambut saya jarang sikit banding ngan kakak saya, jadi kalau nak buat mohawk tu susah jugak rasanya, takper la saya tunggu sampai lebat, itu pun kalau bapak saya tak botakkan saya.

Sekarang ni tak der apa nak update sangat, kerja saya tidur, minum susu, tidur, kencing, berak camtu jer. Cuma nak komplen pasak Kak Daaniya sikit, dia ni..... Masya Allah, punyer la jeles ngan saya, padahal saya tak buat apa-apa pun. Kalau bapak saya dukung saya mula la dia meraung-raung, nagis macam kene pukul. Kalau mak dukung saya dia ok jer. Ntah apa-apa la akak saya sorang ni, relax la sis, share the LURVE ok?

Tu je la, nak sambung tido balik.

Wassalam and Ciou!!

I Love You,Man.

I am Peter Klaven. Now I know what is wrong with me. It is a fact, my wife will agree. She always ask me how come you don't have best friend? or at least few male close friend? I couldn't answer that question. I have work colleagues, which we do stuffs together during office hour, but that's it, after office our we as good as strangers.
I got few friends at gym, then again it just Hi and Bye at the gym.
I have no close friends that I call simply to talk, or when I am excited over something or anything.
Shall I begin my man-date? ha ha ha.
Anyway, this movie is hilarious! It is a bromantic comedy.I was watching it alone, and was laughing out aloud all by my self like a crazy person. Paul Rudd is just damn funny. I recommend this to every guy and gal! Two thumbs up!

My Own Signiture Drink

This happened to me few time, quite embarrassing, but it seems to be hard coded into my brain, that's how I liked my drinks I guess.

Chicken Rice Stall @ Putrajaya.

  • Saya nak Nasi Ayam 1 set ngan Teh O ais limau tanpa ais. I didn't think anything wrong with that, till all my friends behind me break out in loud laughter. OK FINE!!! I learnt my lesson.
Kenny Rogers @ Equine Park Jusco
  • "I'll have Iced Lemon Tea, without the ice, please." Again, same crowd, same laughter, same embarassement. FINE, I REALLY LEARNT my lesson this time!!!
Chicken Rice Shop @ Subang Parade
  • "I'll have iced lemon tea without ice." And I paused, thinking. My friend didn't say anything. But I end up laughing alone. FINE, I will never learnt my lesson.
If James Bond wants his Martini shaken, not stirred, Then let "Iced lemon Tea without ice", my signature drink
"I said NO ICE, you deaf or something?"

Gollum's Song

Where once was light
Now darkness falls
Where once was love
Love is no more
Don't say goodbye
Don't say I didn't try

These tears we cry
Are falling rain
For all the lies you told us
The hurt, the blame!
And we will weep to be so alone
We are lost
We can never go home

So in the end
I'll be what I will be
No loyal friend
Was ever there for me

Now we say goodbye
We say you didn't try

These tears you cry
Have come too late
Take back the lies
The hurt, the blame!

And you will weep
When you face the end alone
You are lost
You can never go home
You are lost
You can never go home

Office Toilet

1. Honestly, how hard it is to life the toilet seat, aim and flush? why so many guys messes up the whole place?

2. And do you guys really need to squat on seating type toilet? You are some kinda moron? There is eastern toilet right opposite, why don 't you use that?

3. I noticed many and many guys nowadays bring tooth paste and brush to work. After lunch they rush to rest room and start brushing away. Maybe I should too.

4. I really think they should replace the tissue roller at the sink to hot air hand dryer, we can save lots of tree and help reduce overflowing rubbish bin in toilet.

5. I am spending precious time writing about office toilet, I need to get my head checked!

Chau!

Sometime I just do the craziest things!

Just when I thought when my life is boring, monotonous and lack adventure, I just do thing that surprise myself!
It is just fun once a while to do spontaneous stuffs, it just give you some rush.
Now I have to wonder no more!

Michael Jackson

I wasn't really a fan. I like his songs and thats all. But everyone LOVED his video, that's for sure.
On my 17th birthday, a group of friends gave me "Dangerous". I loved it, I listened to it day and nite. But then again, still I wasn't a fan.
Now that he is gone, I am finding myself listening to his songs days and nite, in the car, in office, everywhere.
What a great lost to the world!!!
My favorite now is BEN, this song can drove you to tears, thinking about the sweet innocent boy singing about hmmm probably a dog. He had no idea what future holds for him, it just too tragic.
All I can say is he truly united the whole world through his music.
Rest in Peace MJ!
Al-Fatiha, Amin.

Review

Of all the gadgets I invested in, this GPS is probably most useful. I went to JB and Singapore last week. I did not get lost at all. I arrived at the destination right on the spot.
Same thing in JB, I just type in the street name, then thats it, next thing I know, I arrive at the destination.

I am truly satisfied and my father was even more satisfied that I had to explain to him the concept of coordinte, satelites, maps and so on. Cause it just blew his mind away.

This gadget makes me want to travel to unknown territories.

What have I learned form motivational talk?

It was long ago, I cant remember when, in one of the company Team Building.
The trainer was talking about motivating one self by self rewards.
He asked me when did I ever buy myself a give for my own birthday. I said NEVER. Then he said everyone must buy a gift for themselves for birthday to appreciate their ownself.
This is has been bothering me very much ( seriously guys!!!! ) since I never bought a gift for myself!

So here goes, this year, for my birthday I bought this GPS Navigator for myself!
And it's true, I feel much more happier now! Yeahhhaaaaaa! I should do this every year, guilt free, becuase it was the order form the motivational speaker and it is all my company fault to send me to such training!
May I never get lost again!

I am not sure what I am feeling now. Happy, confused? I feel heavy burden have been lifted off my shoulder.
World seem bearable now. I feel I can face this, whatever coming my way. and I wonder why I waited this long for this?

Yes, I feel liberated.

The truth!

You were sitting down, relaxing , and suddenly out of nowhere, someone appear and give you one hard slap on you face. How that would feel?

Thats how I feel when suddenly I realize the truth of the matter.

It always appear when we least expected it and we have to accept the reality of life.

People say you will grow up gradually, but no, life sometimes forced it on us, that we have to grow up and take control whether we are ready or not.

I had enough of this, I am not gonna live like this. I want to be in control.

Maid, maid and another maid.

Yes, all 3 of them! When they all meet it will be like celebration of some sort.

One in my mother in law house, another in my sister in law house and one of my mine. When we all gather in my mother in law house, it will be gathering for them as well. And when I went to my mum house, it is the same story as well.

But honestly I had enough of these maid business. The bad outweigh the good hands down. Getting a really good maid is like winning lottery, it is all luck and it very rare, it only happen to a friend of a friend of a friend, it sounds almost like urban legend.

If I have a choice, I would like to do away with this maid business, but I have no choice since me and my wife are working. It become a necessity to almost every working couple. Nothing can be done about that.

Sometime you feel so irritated with their stubbornness that you feel like wanna shout, but I remain calm, since they are looking after the kids and cook for us. We don't wanna make them mad, I tried to talk nicely, normally, certain maids listens, certain just ignore and goes on their business as if it is their own house! Having a maid will really test your human management skill. Seriously I don't like this maid thingy one bit.

Yes it is nice when you come home after work, the house is all clean, clothed washed and folded and sometime even dinner is ready, but at some time I feel like I am loosing connection with my own house. Last time we use to do everything in the house, we know where things a put. But now, I had to ask the maid about stuff, she knows more than I do. Sigh....

And, this doesn't include bureaucracy nonsense and if you got a agent form hell only care for money. Last month alone I have made countless journey to Putrajaya Immigration to renew permits for these maids countless time till the counter lady recognizes me.

I guess I will endure this for for more years, till my wife can be a full time housewife.... (if I could earn enough to support that is.....)

Sleep? Deprieved...

They are people who will be in dreamland the moment their head touches the pillow, my wife for example. And there are people who will be tossing and turning for few hours before falling asleep, me, for instance.

There is really nothing I can do about this. I have tried everything I can think of. Cutting of caffeine, tire myself in gym before bed, or avoid certain food. Nothing works.

Since I had to life this problem, I need to improvise on the situation. Here is what I do:

  1. Imagine that I am in a spaceship that cruising smoothly in outer space. I normally will be USS Enterprise. I know I am such a geek, but this what I have been doing since hmmm my teenage years. It always help me sleeps. It seems that before Captain Picard is disturbed form his peaceful slumber, of an yet another attack of Klingons, he look so peacefully asleep.
  2. When I really could'nt sleep, I stopped looking at the time. It is more physcological than anything. If I keep on looking at the time and I realize that I only fall asleep at 4 am for instance, I will feel tired and week next week, because I know the fact that I only fall asleep at 4. But If i hadn't seen the time, I'd never know the time, I might have fallen asleep at 5 or maybe even 12. I will never know! So physologically I still fresh in the morning. Silly, I know.
  3. I think about the nicest thing that I did that day that I am proud off. It really helps. It doesn't have to be big, it can be really small stuffs and sometime even silly. It can be something you settle for good at work. Or somehing I did home, like DIY stuffs, or something cute my daughter did. Whatever keeps you in happy thoughts.
  4. If all doesn't work, well guys, at the end, you know what the best way to make you tired and sleepy ;)

Slumdog Millionaire

People people people,

Listen to me, GO WATCH THIS MOVIE! it is not often movie like this is made. This is kinda movie that make you think about it even after hours/days you have watched it.

I felt sad, happy, angry all sort of emotion mixed and mingled together watching this movie. This depicts the true love story with even truer depiction of poverty in India as a background. All this while, while watching all the song and dance Bollywood movies, we never actually realize the true state of poverty in India. This, off course isn't a Bollywwod movie, it is by UK director, even the cast I think mostly UK born Indian.

It has been nominated for OSCAR, most blog I read syas this is definate a winner and my favourite composer, AR RAhman, has been nominated as Best Music Director for this, so what else I can say?

From IMDB:
Whats the movie about?
A Mumbai teen who grew up in the slums, becomes a contestant on the Indian version of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" He is arrested under suspicion of cheating, and while being interrogated, events from his life history are shown which explain why he knows the answers

Tagline: Love and money... You have mixed them both.
Awards: Nominated for 10 Oscars. Another 60 wins & 29 nominations. more...

People Don't Change?

I am done with updating the template. The XML thingy is fun once you got the hang of it. The widgets are cool too, make blogging so much more easier.

While updating the template, I was going through all my older posts in order to label each entries for easier search later on, so I read each and every entry I made since the day I started blogging. It just struck me how much I have changed and how much my life has evolved!

All this while, I thought I never change since the day I was born, I mean, the way I think, who I am, the way I see think. I thought I am pretty much constant through-out. But After finish reading my own blog, I had to disagree. PEOPLE CHANGE OVER TIME.

They are some entries I don't even remember entering and there are some entries seem so alien to me it might as well been written by some0ne else. It is so weird to read them all back. Some entries bring back memories, some entries I just can't seem to relate to anymore. Somehow it give me some degree of perspective in life, where I am from and where I am heading.

Who ever says blogging is waste of time and useless is clueless what they talking about.

Maintenance in progress!

Yeah, my resolution this year was to blog more, but 10 posts in January? and all of them about car, even I feel sick reading it!

I am kinda trying out new template now, so this blog gonna look bit shitty for now. I upgrade to XML, but man, I know nothing about XML, still learning. So I switched back to HTML for now.

Hope I will come up with prototype by weekend ends.

Chau!

Finally, my new car!

Collected the car on 23rd, one day before Daaniya's birthday, so this is kinda Daaniya's Birthday gift, (she can't cant drive anyway, so it I am safe!)

Daaniya Posing with her 1st birthday gift! (She doesn't seem to look happy does she?, perhaps she thougt he daddy will buy her a BMW ha ha)

It is just the feeling getting into the new car that I can't describe. And the smell! the smell of a new car is the best smell there is! So I wont be putting any car fragrance till the new car smell wears off!.

I fall in love with the dashboard, when you driving at night its feels like you a piloting a plane! It look so futuristic.

The drive itself is just so smooth, you can't tell if the engine is running if the car is stationery ( I guess this applies to all new cars)

Off course, 2.0 has many more function, but 1.8 is just nice for me (and for my budget).
I really can't write a decent car review soince I am not exactly a car person, but this car IS GOOD!

Love at first sight Part 2

That's what happened to me. I was so convinced that City is the car for me! But then, there was CIVIC, just parked there in the show room, in it own silence elegance, its already command respect who those who just even looked at it. Once you sat in it and touch the dashboard, you will fall for it.

So at that spur of the moment, me and wife decided it is CIVIC we are getting. Off course I got to fork out more, but it WORTH it!

CIVIC is my true love now ;)

Love at first sight Part 1

Some guys swear that the found their true love or soul mate but only to discover they found 'another' soul mate a week later. Some guy fall in love with but commit to another. So there is no assurance that what we thought as our true love still will be the true love we thought some time later on in our life.
This is what I have learnt recently, things not always what we thought it would be. what we thought as our love might be just infatuation, we just need some time to pass before deciding it if it is for us or not. Never be too sure of your taste, it fluctuate, give it time!

More will be revealed in Part 2.........................

Carless Person

I have sold my car. I wouldn't have thought when I woke up that morning (13th Jan), that would be the last day I would be driving my car. Initial plan was just to send the car to show room for inspection only. But the used car dealer wanted the car there and then!

He offered slightly better price than the rest, so why the hell not, he paid right then. I wend back home for a while to empty my car and give a hug and kiss (no really). And it was SOLD just like that! Had no idea the whole process took like just few hours.

Then I booked new car right then.

Now I shall patiently wait for the arrival of the new member of the family.

Tuesday, January 13, 2009

Why?

Why new car? I know I know, in my previous post I promised to myself to use my current car for 10 years, so I have 2 more years to go.
It's just that in the past 2-3 months I have spent about 2k++ on repair work alone, all for the same problem, water leaking from the engine block.
Changed the gasket, serviced the engine, serviced the radiator all for no good, it keep on happening.
Finally the mechanic solved the prob, but he said if the same prob happens again, I might need to change the engine! I didn't get second opinion, and I think that family mechanic is honest, normally we will try to repair the part before suggesting to replace it.

It is just that I have phobia now, the engine have over heat so frequently and at worse possible time. I just don't dare to drive it on long distance journey cause I am so paranoid, it's ok if I am single, but with family and small baby, I just can't take the risk.

So, that was the chronological of events that lead me to decide to change the car.

Mawi-Ekin

I couldn't help but feeling rather sorry and a bit embarrassed watching these two's wedding reception on TV.
Wife was watching it, and I felt so sorry for her, wasting her time like that, she justified that she watching it just to see how stupid the whole thing is.
No matter how famous one get, marriage should always should remain private and personal. Gosh, letting themselves to be manipulated for the gain of others like that!!!

I truly feel sorry.

Remember Erra and Yusry anyone?

I hope only the death will do them part, Amin!
