Of accident prone Imaad.

As warned by so many, even before Imaad is born, like:
  • "Boys are rough, not as easy as looking after girls" or
  • "Be careful, you need keep BOTH eyes on boys, they never sit still" or
  • "You can say good bye to your decorative, furnitures and that beautiful bamboo blind hanging in at the hall, you boy sure will destroy it!"
I guess, it is true, boys will be boys. It was easy to look after Daaniya when she was small, she will just sit and play with her toys, just crawl around hall area. Imaad in completely different story.

Now he started walking, which is great, but he also started to climb on anything! sofa, rocking chair, house gate, toddlers gate, stand fan (is it even possible to climb it?), anything that stands vertical he will try to climb it. In doing so he will keep on falling. Banging his head here and there.

I guess raising a boy can be a challenge, they tend to demand more attention, especially from mother. They are very curious about everything around them and the moment you look other way, they are already half way on the staircase  to upstairs (happened to me). Anyway, what with children and staircase? what attract them to staircase? it just a mystery, someone please do some research on this please! ahhh and also the unexplainable attraction of toddlers towards remote controls and cellphone. Seriously, this would make a great PhD research i think.

He can do all the mischievous thing and you will be so angry, but when he look at you with that cutest smile, you heart will melt.Seriously, Imaad has the cutest smile ever!

Seriously, can you resist that smile?

And of course Daaniya will try to slip in wherever Imaad is "I LOVE ROTI CANAI aka "Picchi picchi Totthu Thotthu"

I was at Jusco just now during lunch, not that I went to eat, I was bored and I needed to buy insole for my new shoe.
Anyway, there was this Zakat Fitrah counter. So I went gladly paid the zakat and left the counter to join my friends.
Only after that I realized, I completely forgotten about Imaad! I am a terrible dad! Imaad gonna be mad when he reads this .......
So I went to the counter and paid for another head.

Ramadhan al Mubarak

This Ramadhan is just full of challange. I didn't even relaised Ramadhan approaching and now we are already 7th day of fasting.

  • My father in law suffered a stroke, was warded and now back home, half of his body is weak, especially the left leg. Now he is doing phisio at home.
  • Ajim lak masuk ward, suspected encephalitis, cured then readmitted cause of allergic reaction to medication. Now Alhamdulillah, he is fine.
  • My wife's grandma, also admitted to Assuntha, cause of difficulties in breathing. She is also bit better now.
  • My whole family had a virus flu of some kind which ended up with really nasty sore throat. It started with me, then my kids, wife, and now the whole in law house infected.
  • Not to mentioned retrenchment going in office, even though my departments was spared, the morale is LOW.
  • My dad admitted to Bentong Hospital cause of lowblood pressure and difficulties breathing.
I am really hoping that by end of Ramadhan everything will be fine with the grace of Allah.

Amin

Ramadhan al Mubarak to all muslims.

Much Needed Break.

I am looking forward for my UK trip, and this is an understatement.

That's all I am thinking about for weeks, I need break from work. I need to unwind and rethink a lot of things.
Too bad my wife and kids unable to join me this time, as I am going just an escort for my parents, but, I still can have fun.

And I am really hopeful that ash from Iceland doesn't interfere with the flight schedule, or else everything will be ruined!

Where I am Going? - Thats the title for my blog (for now) and its funny, when I look at the header banner for the  blog, it list streets of London, which when I put it up, it thought it was rather suitable picture, very related to the tittle, not in my wildest dream I was thinking that will be going to London this year!

UK (hopefully other countries in Europe too), here I come!

It's is always like that, the moment I have some extra money coming in, there will be extra expenditure will be coming in as well. Shall I be upset or happy that, God plan for me extra income because He knows extra expands are coming on the way? Anyway Alhamdulillah.

In about 2 more hours, I will be 35. It just a number, in the last exercise I took during team building, my biological age is actually 19! So I guess, I am quite fit, again Alhamdulilah.

Suprise

All the surprises I planned out for my wife does not work. Not only it didn't work, it always end up disastrously, the cup cake disappointment for previous mothers day and the SPA incident for last birthday are few to name.

I am planning something now, something big, hell, it is something EPIC in proportion for my standard. It better work.

Even if my wife is reading this, there is no way in hell she would be able to guess what's coming.

Beware... Incoming taaaaxxxxxxxxxxx

This is the first time ever I had "Cukai Terlebih Bayar". Maybe cause I have 2 kids now. Or maybe it is because of the extra deduction LHDN asked to deduct montly for the pass 6 month til Dec. Anyhow I am happy.
It is sad that i am not fully making advantage of the all the tax deduction given by the government.

These are the thing I am gonna do for this year.

  • Buy lots and lots of book
  • Buy a really nice pair of sport shoe.
  • Increase my Charitable contributions.
  • Buy a computer? Maybe not.
  • Open a SSPN accounts for both my children.
  • Save medical bills for parents. (regardless I pay for it or not ;) )

Warning, not for the faint hearted.

SPARTACUS: BLOOD AND SAND

I just finished watching the season finale, and this is my kinda season finale. No cliff hangers, there is closure for almost every dangling issue and just enough suspense on what to expect in season 2. Never in my life I felt so satisfied seeing so much blood spewing out of veins (I am sick) Everyone who died at the end DESERVED it. Period.

Here is something I always wonder while watching Spartacus:

  • What is the Effing wrong with the Romans? Seriously, why they got so excited seeing blood? Were they really that sick?
  • How much blood does human body SPEW out, I mean spew out as in blood out garden hose? and how long it will keep on spewing out like that?
  • Does blood really that vivid in RED, I mean really really RED
  • Where was Mira hiding all this while :p
  • Does all slaves in that period hmmm..... apparel-ly challenged?
  • I mean I still wondering, WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE ROMANS, I just keep on wondering that!

Wife-less 2 weeks

Wife was off to The UK for 2 weeks. I sent the kids and maid to mum house for that 2 week. So, I am all set to enjoy my bachelor life again, yeehaaa or so I thought.

What actually happed was far from anything to celebrate.

  • I end up missing my children.
  • After work, I hit gym, reach home, search in the fridge for anything edible and end up drinking protein shake and some biscuits.
  • watch TV, A LOT of them
  • had gastric, because I was too lazy to cook, even to heat up pre-cooked meal wife frozen up or even to go out and buy anything.
  • and oh yes, I did went to Burger King drive tru near Shal Alam stadium, because I had sudden craving, after gym, so basically it cancel out fat i burned in gym.
  • and again, I went to BK, after reached home on another occasion, I love their mushroom burger!
  • I light up the stove like twice if I remembered correctly, to fry egg.
  • I did laundry once, and enjoyed it.
  • Then, I watch TV again. even more if it is even possible.
  • Being a Peter Klaven, I had no buddies to hang out, even if I had, I don't think I would have hung out. Yes, I am THAT adventurous and fun guy.
  • having some one to nag around the house doesn't seem so bad all of sudden
  • And finally I started to miss my wife (yes finally, hehe)
The conclusion is, I have evolved, I have become a family man. I rather spend my time with family than doing anything else.

Glee

I am quite not sure why am I following this show. When I first watched the promo, yeah right another teen-high-school-musical-drama hybrid kinda show. Lame.

But then I got hooked. I can't explain why, is it the music? This show is packed with music from 60s to 90s. Listening ti it just brings me back to my childhood. Is it the dance? It has all the cool moves and just make you move you body. is it the cast? script? I can't quite tell.

It wasn't only the teens are full of drama, the adults are no less, Mr Shue and his marriage. Miss Pillsbury the hygiene freak, not to mention Sue Sylvester, whose only goal in life is to see the destruction of Glee club.

This is a typical "guilty pleasure" show. You kinda embarrassed that you watched it, but no matter what. you still do secretly!

One thing for sure, I hate this bitch. I hate her... I hate her... I hate her... I hate her... I hate her... VERY MUCH, I don't understand what her problem!

House Tattoo...

That's what I like to call it. Those wall sticker from Korean and China that had become craziness every where.
I am no exception, I managed to 'ink' my house everywhere with this.

First, I bought the Korea one, really nice design, but cost bit high, can be rm20-50 per piece. Then I saw China one that sells 3-4 pieces for RM10! I felt like killing my self!
But what done is done....

No ordinary vending machine....

This might look like ordinary vending machine. In fact it is very ordinary vending machine. It dispenses hot and cold drinks. And I heard the drinks are quite nice especially the teh tarik, it  is to die for.

It is located in 3rd floor, at the end of the hallway to the to restroom. It is not THAT secluded, but relatively a safe spot, right behind the the vending machine, there is enough space for one person to stand and have a private phone conversation like hmm...... a phone interview?

I have been here for 3 yrs plus, and have taken coutless trip to the restroom, and I have overheard so many phone interviews going on behind this machine. There are many offices in this building, it can be anyone, cause most the time you only can hear the voice.

Some people really discreet about it, some just don't even give a damn, if you stand there long enough you could pick up pretty decent interview skill from these people. At least you will learn something on the way to the restroom.

Better learn something on every opportunity you have!

Chau fo now!

Daaniya's Birthday: The Clown

  • Initially clown wasn't in my list at all, it was just beyond my tight budget. A colleague of mine, recommended a very reasonable clown for the party, the charges were hmmm reasonable, and the performance was good too. The balloon figurines (what it's called anyway?) was free flowing and the kids were very happy.
  • Usually the clown will plan out games for the kids, we just need to prepare some gifts to give away for the winners, nothing fancy, just stuffs you buy at rm2 shop would do, price giving is just a gesture and the kids be thrilled to won one of those!
  • The good thing about having clown at party is, is to keeps the kids occupied. Birthdays are for kids, if there is no activities plan out for them, then there is no fun for them at all. All the would do is look and bug their annoying parents talking to each other.
  • When I say kids love clown, I meant kids 5 years and above. Don't bother bringing babies anywhere near the clown, they will start screaming as though they seen a ghost! Same goes to any other mascots, be it be McDonald's Ronald or A&W Bear.
  • While kids are being entertained by the clown, the parents actually can have a decent conversation with each other and the host can entertain the other guests.

Daaniya's Birthday: The Caterer and Logistics

Sometime we depend too much on the internet while planning something that we forgot the old fashion way of doing stuffs.

This is what happened to us. We try to look for caterer from net. Of course with all the beautiful pictures on their blog and the testimonies, you will be quite impressed. But when you call them up, most of the time they are fully booked or not interested for catering for the small crowd. Some will give you quoatation but will not entertain you after that, they don't even have the gut to say they are uanble to cater or something. I was so pissed off.

I panicked when one of the caterer canceled on last minute. I was determined to look for replacement caterer no matter what since the function is just a week away.

Then I dawned on me, why on earth I never asked the restaurants and shops around my house that I usually to cater? Isn't that would be much better? Since I know the food quality and the reputation?

So I went to 'Coffe Shop' in pusat Perniagaan Subang Permai, yes, that the shop name. Yes, they do cater for function, and oh yes, their food is excellent. It is settled then!! No hassle, no trouble, a caterer 5 minutes from home, can things get better? In fact, yes, it did get better, At first, I catered for 200 pax, then looking at the list, I chnaged it to 250pax, I ask Kak Minah, for another quotation, then she said, "takper la dik, Akak charge utk 200pax jer, 50 FOC". I was like whoaaa, thanks thanks!

On the of the function, everyone enjoyed the food and said it was delicious, even my parents, who normally very critical about food since they rather cook themselves for any function.

Highlight of the menu? The Aqiqah kabing GOLEK!
